Kris’s World Title challenge ends in defeat thanks to a cut from elbow strike.

The fight began well for Kris, and at a furious pace! He exerted good pressure using accurate strong techniques to drive Aubertelle back to the ropes. He then, after a period of clinch, delivered a jumping downward elbow which cut the Frenchman. Kris continued to apply pressure until the end of the round.

It was now clear to the French corner that they would not win a long fight so they roused their man to go all out in the second and he managed to deliver a terrific spear elbow which caused a very large swelling in the middle of Kris’s forehead.  This was then hit again and was immediately cut. It was too big a cut for the fight to continue and the Frenchman had won.

With the cut stitched and two black eyes next day we managed to get time for a trip into Paris, and the bottle of champagne!
