Kao Loi Thai Boxing

Harry Brecken fought first against Kenzie Roberts from Bad Company.  Kenzie was a little more experienced than Harry but 1kg lighter.  The fight began as it was to carry on..with both boys showing excellent muay thai technique.  They showed how far the sport has come forward in the last 15 years using excellent ringcraft, technique and timing.

Kenzie began pushing forward immediately with Harry quite happy to move backwards and counter with kicks and knees.  Kenzie kept up the pressure throughout, although after scoring well in the early rounds Harry's strong counters began to tire him.  Harry turned up the pressure in the last round and dominated it with some big kicks and knees.  The result was a split decision to Kenzie but both boys came away happy with their performances.

Kris Addis's opponent was UK no.2 Chris Shaw.  Chris is from Scotland and although he has not had as many adult fights as kris, he has been training for many years.  Kris had prepared to take the fight to Chris who has excellent kicks, and this he did from the bell.  Kris landed a couple of good teeps to the face and finished the round well with some strong knees.

Chris then began to time his trademark kicks as Kris was moving in, and this became a problem to Kris who could not get past them.  Into the third and kris jumped in with an elbow which Chris neatly sidestepped.  This gave Chris the opportunity to cut Kris with his own elbow strike, and the resulting wound bled profusely.  Referee Darren Philips tried to let the contest continue but the blood flowed too freely and he had to halt the action.

Bad luck to Kris who will now focus on his next fight against Daitan Jackson at Rumble at the Reebok on June 11th.
